They're foam so they can be torn with sharp edges or projections but they help put whatever you want where you want it. I use mine mostly for cleaning guns with solvent and oil. They hold the material well and let you get it into those nooks and crannies. The length is just right. I also have cotton swabs of the same style but they tend to leave cotton strands and these prevent that. Overall a good quality item.

I finally got to use these cleaners. I use them for my computer and well as my camera. Some of the swabs fit nicely in the crevices in my car. Definitely worth the price!.

If you are using them and applying pratically no pressure they are fine...for me, using them as a gun cleaning tool they are basically useless...
