It works
Results were produced in the time as advertised, and it seems like we don't have any issues in our water. I don't have any particular way to confirm these results from another source, but we don't have any health issues related to lead exposure so it seems like it works.
Very easy to use. Great price and easy instructions.
My child’s doctor informed us of elevated lead levels in their blood, which prompted us to investigate our home environment. This test kit was easy to use and provided quick results, helping us pinpoint the source of the problem. The instructions were simple to follow, and the entire process took just 15 minutes. It gave us peace of mind and clear next steps to address the issue. A great product for anyone concerned about lead in their drinking water
I have been worried that the water in my home does not meet the standard, but I bought this test paper, and I will insist on testing the water quality in my home every once in a while
Got a positive result but I'm skeptical. Previous results (a while ago) were neagtive, and in theory, there shouldn't be any lead present. However, I won't be ignoring this and so the bottom line is, I'm now doing a much more thorough, and expensive, test to see if this is a legit result. I will update the review accordingly. Be prepared that this is a quick and cheap test that you will have to confirm another way if you get a positive result.
I got this because I live in an old house. I wanted to find out if my water has lead in it. I ran the test according to the directions and then read the results. It's fairly straightforward and easy to do and the good news is that according to the test my water is OK. I'm not going to say it's as accurate as a real "send it off to the lab" test, but it should give you a general idea of the lead content in your water.
I accidentally messed up the first test because I tried to do it with a little one around and didn't see the second step of mixing it with the little vile. The second one I am not 100 percent sure but I think it's positive for lead and that would actually make a lot of sense because of some behavioral problems my kids have been having. The test are cheap and effective. You simply can't rely on the water company to be on top of things like this. I have city water! I do wish that the test was two… lines for positive because most other test are so I had to explain and reexplain to several people that the test was indeed positive according to the key in the insert. I'm going to retest using a different brand and I'll update on those results as to the accuracy of this test.
I can't be 100% certain this was a false positive reading for lead, but it's unlikely that we have lead and subsequent tests from other brands have tested negative for lower levels, so I don't have a lot of faith in the accuracy. The instructions leave a little to be desired; they say to measure a precise amount of water using the provided pipette, but it's unclear where the correct volume marking is on the pipette.
This was ultimately about as easy to use as an at home COVID test, so pretty easy, and that is nothing to sneeze at.I haven't been able to corroborate it's accuracy, and that is largely due to it allowing the detection of single digit PPB (Parts Per Billion) amounts of dissolved Lead. I got a second test to check the results...the other test I bought was only sensitive in the PPM (Parts Per Million) range. They sound the same, but what that really means is that this rest is like 1,000 times a…s sensitive as the other at home products I found. And with the goal for lead in drinking water at 0 (Zero) PPB and a remediation demand for anything above 15 PPB in schools, yeah, this is the type of Lead test you need. If you use another test and it shows no lead, but is only sensitive at the PPM level that other product actually makes you less safe by giving you a totally meaningless false sense of security. The color seemed accurate to what was described. This is fantastic that it is possible to get an at home test of this sensitive functionality for a reasonable amount of money. It used to cost a lot more and need the sample mailed to the lab just a few years ago. This, unlike other products, is actually functional in that it gives results in the sensitivity range needed to know if water is safe, or it is time to purchase a high quality filter.
