I've never seen swabs like this before, but I love them! I think you could use these in place of a cotton swab for any delicate cleaning job, and the biggest advantage to me is that they leave no lint behind. I've used these a few times now. I have other swabs which I was using for flux cleanup, but they're too flexible and strands of cotton pull off them.These allow me to get in between small components and mop up the last bits which were very hard to remove before.

I work on watches as a hobby and sometimes there's a small smudge on a dial or hand or crystal and these are perfect for cleaning that up without risk of damaging the surface.
